What an Indian flat actually gives you

India's National Building Code sets a minimum clear ceiling of 2.75 m for habitable rooms, and a typical flat built to 10 ft floor-to-floor leaves about 2.84 m. But the limit that matters for a treadmill is the ceiling fan: on a standard downrod the blades sit around 2.45 m from the floor, which is what a tall runner reaches first.
